A LITTLE MORE CLARITY

Your questions,
answered.

Can I join BIA if I am new to interim work?

Experienced business leaders moving into interim work can apply. You still need to demonstrate leadership experience through three case studies or successfully complete the BIA certification pathway when it becomes available. BIA reviews eligibility before issuing the annual membership invoice.

What experience should the three case studies demonstrate?

Each case study should describe a business situation where you led meaningful change. Explain the challenge, your own role and decision-making responsibility, what you did, and the results or evidence. The examples can come from leadership roles before you became an interim; make your personal contribution clear and anonymise client details where necessary.

What is included in the member toolkit?

The private workspace contains four guided stages: Discover, Agree, Deliver and Hand over. It includes saved personal worksheets and ten original BIA resources, such as the client discovery mastersheet, offer, contract, NDA, action plan and results report. Adapt templates to the specific assignment and obtain local legal advice where needed.

Does membership guarantee interim assignments?

No. Membership offers professional connections, shared learning and practical resources. Assignments depend on client needs, your experience, availability and the terms agreed between the parties. Membership should not be treated as a promise of paid work.

Can I use the BIA Certified Interim badge as a member?

Only if you have also earned the assessed BIA Certified Interim qualification. Active membership and certification are separate statuses. Use a membership badge only for the membership category and period BIA has confirmed.
